Macmillan Publishers The Picador Anthology of Birth Poems: The original intention was to include in each hamper a copy of a wonderful poem ‘Born Yesterday’ written by Philip Larkin after the birth of his friend’s daughter. But we decided that an even better idea was to include a copy of The Picador Anthology of Birth poems, which not only includes that poem, but a fantastic collection of poems exploring many aspects of the arrival of a precious little one. We’re really excited about this book, and hope that reading the poems enhances this wonderful time in your life.

When we made the decision to include solely British made gifts in our hampers, we certainly set ourselves a challenge! We wanted to provide a simple, comforting cup of tea for the parents, but as we all know, tea isn’t grown in this country. Or that’s we thought -until we came across the Tregothan Estate in Cornwall. We were ridiculously excited to discover that they have been growing tea on their plantation there since 2005!
“Drawing on almost 200 years of experience in growing Camellias, we’ve been supplying tea from Tregothnan since 2005 when we released our best-selling Classic blend. Today, the range extends to many black teas including our exclusive Single Estate, green teas and a growing list of home-grown herbal infusions. We are proud to be the only producer actually growing tea in the UK, putting the English into English tea.”
We chose a selection of teas, including the afternoon tea blend. for the hampers. As Bella Percy Hughes from Tregothan says: ‘Afternoon tea is a perfect treat for new parents. It’s light and delicious. Especially if new mothers have been off the caffeine for a while!’
If you love tea as much as we do, have a look at Tregothnan’s website – it’s a treat, with gorgeous images of the estate to savour.
